St. John’s Ukrainian Catholic Church Pre-School was established in 1990. This was the brainchild of Rev. Bohdan Lukie, CSSR and Mrs. Olenka Makarushka-Kolodiy, who is both the director and the driving force of the pre-school. Mrs. Makarushka-Kolodiy and the other teachers focus their efforts on instilling in their students a love of God and Ukraine. St. John’s Pre-School stands out from others in that it follows the Montessori method of learning – a method that has proven to be one of the most successful in guiding child development.
